I may end up giving this one 4 stars...I'm still trying to wrap my mind around the feelings I'm having right now.
How I long for a Tuscan villa! I'm glad for books like this, because they make it possible for me to create my own little bit of Tuscany right here. Loved the photos and recipes especially.
Let's take every single romance novel cliché and toss them into one book, shall we? Dreadful. Just dreadful.
I started reading this one back in October and finally gave up on it. Six months is more than long enough to waste on a book that I can't get into.

The words and the pictures didn't really feel like they fit together to me. Going back and forth made it easy to forget what had happened previously. The illustrations were fantastic though, and I really liked that part of the book. Sadly, the written part did nothing for me.
Uh, WUT? I read this basically on a dare and I wish that I'd been strong and said no. Absolutely ridiculous.
I swore off this series because I couldn't handle the writing, but then I got this one in my email and I didn't remember that I'd already sworn off. Now I remember why. Dreadful.
Sweet story, very likable characters. I really loved the interactions between Bray and Louisa's sisters. I loved seeing him grow into his affection for them.
I never did get very involved in this story. It wasn't compelling and I didn't like the characters. Just meh for me. (hot cover though - points for that)
Can't think of anything I liked about this one. Dialogue didn't fit, some of the description was just off (I'm sorry, but I can't quite believe that someone back in that period would have said "butt naked" to describe a naked child). Things like that totally ruined it for me and left a nasty taste in my mouth.
